Wool YarnsShop for wool yarns, knitting patterns, and wool care products > Wool YarnsWe have three types of wool yarns; alpaca, sheep's wool, and our handspun naturally dyed merino wool yarn. Our alpaca merino blend is a 3-ply dk weight yarn is a marriage of two superfine luxury fibers, alpaca and merino wool. The alpaca makes this yarn incredibly soft with a silky luster, the merino provides stability and elasticity without sacrificing any softness. Combined, this yarn produces a fabric that is exceptionally soft and lightweight, with a graceful, almost fluid drape. This versatile yarn is ideal for sweaters, blankets, hats, scarves and a wide range of other projects for adults and children. Our soft sheep's wool is a versatile worsted weight yarn that is loaded with body for elegant shaping. It creates a garment that is soft, durable, and naturally water resistant. This is a wonderful choice for adult or children's clothing. 1855 is an artisan created, handspun, naturally dyed merino wool yarn. We begin by spinning the combed and carded merino fiber by hand to create a strong worsted yarn. Next we use dyes that have been adapted from ancient recipes using locally available flowers, roots, barks and even insects to dye the wool. Our color palate is rich, subtle and like all things in nature, ever changing.
